Obituary for Thomas P. Garrity
CORINTH - Thomas Peter Garrity, 81, died peacefully in his sleep March 12, 2022, at his Corinth home. He was born February 26, 1941, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the son of Roy J. and Anne May Garrity.
Thomas joined the U.S. Navy, March 15, 1958, serving 6 years. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Thomas went to work for R.E.A. Express Railroad. After working for the Railroad, Thomas went on to become a long-haul truck driver. He spent over 40 years driving before retiring in 2007. When he wasn’t working, Thomas loved to be outdoors, hunting, fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, or snowmobiling.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Cynthia Berard-Garrity, are his son, Daniel Garrity, of Wisconsin; stepdaughter, Kelly Berard, of Corinth; granddaughters, Amanda Zerwas and her husband, Joe, of Wisconsin, Ashley Dunn and her husband, Kyle, of Iowa; and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his son, Timothy Garrity.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity that is close to your heart in honor of Thomas. The family would like to thank everyone who made time to visit Thomas before his passing.
