Obituary for Shawn T. Monson
Shawn T. Monson, 48, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Bangor on November 24, 2021. He was born August 10, 1973, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Wayne D Monson, of Fort Fairfield and Constance F. (Davenport) Monson, of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick.
Shawn graduated from Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1991. After graduation, Shawn attended Washington County Technical College where he began to learn his trade, which he since mastered, in Heavy Equipment Operation.
He leaves behind his three daughters, Roseanna Waldeck (Bryce Monteyro) of Augusta, Maine, Kassadi Monson (Shane McElhattan) of Somersworth, New Hampshire, and Casey Monson of Augusta, Maine; his only grandchild, "Winnie" (Winifred) Rae McElhattan; his sister, Shannon Monson and his nephews, Dakota, Danni and Michael, all of Monroe, North Carolina; his stepmother, Katherine Monson (Johnston), his Uncle Rick Monson (Laurie Monson), as well as several cousins.
Shawn was predeceased by his uncle, Wendall Monson; and aunts, Glenda Frank, Sharon Frierson and Carole Chambers.
Shawn loved his children, grandbaby and pup, Zoey more than anything and he will be missed more than words can say.
At Shawn's request, there will be no services, however, his daughters will be having a celebration of life on Shawn's behalf at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monson Children c/o Angela Foster, P.O. Box 5293, Augusta, ME 04332-5293.
