Obituary for Rodney McMannus
Winn – Rodney D. McMannus, 65, of Winn died February 11, 2022, at home surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was born January 26, 1957, in Island Falls, the son of Vance and Luanna (York) McMannus.
Rodney had a love for music and the great outdoors. In his younger years, you would find him hunting, trapping, four-wheeling, snow mobiling, boating, canoeing, kayaking or fishing in his free time.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Rosemarie (Soucie) McMannus of Winn; his four children, Jay McMannus and wife Nancy of East Millinocket, ME; Kelly McMannus of Jay, ME; Matthew McMannus and wife Penny of Macwahoc, ME; and Sarah Price and husband Morgan of El Reno, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Britney, Brandon, Marissa, Hailey, Nikita and Madison; one great grand-child, Olivia; two siblings, Waldo McMannus of Smyrna, ME and Cliasta Bither of Houlton, ME; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and grandson, Travis McMannus.
Per Rodney’s request, no funeral services will be held. Instead, family and friends will be celebrating his life by going ice fishing at a later date. Ice fishing was the last thing Rodney wanted to do as family before he passed.
