Obituary for Ellen M. Dorr
BANGOR - Ellen Marie Dorr, 65, died at home December 27, 2021 in Bangor. She was born December 1, 1956, in Castine, the daughter of Grover S. and Pauline Zilda (Gray) Dorr.
Ellen graduated from Governor Baxter School for the Deaf in Falmouth. She spent most of her life on the west coast in California. There, she was a big San Francisco 49ers fan. Upon returning to Maine, she split her loyalty between the Patriots and the 49ers. She also enjoyed a good game of Mini Golf, playing cards with family, and the annual Maine Timberfest for the Deaf.
Ellen is survived by her brother, Robert S. Dorr and his wife, Kathy, of Micco, Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a lifelong friend and roommate, Debra Dill and her son, Derrick York. In addition to her parents, Ellen was predeceased by her four older sisters, Linda, Peggy-Jean, Melody, and Beth; and her best friend, Lisa Dixon.
Ellen was deeply loved by all that knew her and she will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf.
