HAMPDEN – Carl Eugene Buck, 89, died unexpectedly October 18, 2021, at a local hospital. He and his wife, Nora (Hatch) Buck had just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. He was the son of Chester H. and Martha (Shields) Buck, of Camden.

Carl enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduating from Camden High School. Shortly after, he went to work for New England Telephone. Then AT&T, and retired from Lucent Technologies after 44 years of work. He was a Scout Master in Hampden for seven years and was very proud that both of his sons became Eagle Scouts as well. His favorite sport was golf, and was a long-time member of Northport Golf Club and Eastern Maine Seniors Golf Association.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Nora; three children, Kevin Buck and his wife, Margery, of Bass Harbor, Daniel Buck and his wife, Marsha, of Wayne, Cynthia Buck Dudley and her husband, Richard, of Winterport; five grandchildren, Sean Buck, Jasmine Buck Berube, Holden Dudley, Aidan Dudley, and Elise Dudley; three great-grandchildren, Serena Berube, Adalyn Berube, and Brooks Berube.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence; and two brothers who died in infancy.
A family and friends celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
